FAQs

What is Botox?

Botox is a brand name of Botulinum Toxin type A, Botox is a licensed prescription drug and should only be administered by a skilled medical professional, for example a Registered Nurse, Doctor, Dentist or Midwife. You must have a face to face consultation with a prescriber prior to having treatment so you are made aware of all the risks and complications surrounding this drug. Only when you are happy should you go ahead with treatment, treatment doesn’t have to happen on the same day.

Botox is a muscle relaxant, it is used to temporarily reduce the use of a muscle to reduce wrinkles. It has been used for over 20years in both adults and children for other medical conditions, such a migraines, eye squints, bladder problems and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). Every drug comes with its own side effects and these will be highlighted in your consultation so you can make an informed decision before treatment.

How long will it last?

Depending on the Botox treatment you have, it can last between 3-6 months. After this time you can be retreated.

How much will it cost?

Botox treatments start from £135. Pricing is calculated on the amount of Botox that is required in each area, so this can vary from client to client. A consultation, helps highlight the amount of Botox required for each area, that you would like treated and the cost is discussed, so no hidden charges or surprises during treatment or aftercare appointments.

What happens if I stop treatments, will my wrinkles look worse?

If you didn’t want to continue with treatments your muscles will just go back to their pre-treatment condition.

Am I in safe hands?

Our registered and accredited nurses have over 10 years of experience each and have been certified to carry out these treatments, they have carried out hundreds of these treatments. They have been trained and certified by government regulatory bodies to ensure your safety. So yes you’re in safe hands.

Facial Fillers/Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal Fillers or facial fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), but don’t let the word ‘acid’ scare you. The water binding molecule that looks like gel under a glass is naturally in our bodies. It is a moisture binding ingredient that helps keep your skin hydrated and smooth.

Is it painful?

Depending on your pain threshold this can vary from client to client, but we will ensure we minimise the pain that you feel. A numbing cream is applied to the area giving sufficient time to the area to numb before we inject up to 30minutes. Our fillers also have local anaesthetic contained in them, so this helps reduce nay pain you may feel.

Allergy to local or general anaesthetic? We have alternative fillers and techniques for clients to still have treatments if they are not able to have numbing products.

Will I look odd after fillers?  I see people on the TV and their faces look so puffy

We pride ourselves in giving the most natural look possible for our clients when I comes to fillers. We only use the best products to achieve these results, products that have been researched and given the best long lasting results. This is why we are a brand stockist of Juvéderm Òthe world’s leading brand for ha facial fillers. The media will and have grossly misinterpreted the use of facial fillers by showing people the horror stories. We will always discuss together the treatment that will suit you best as you will be our natural walking billboard.

What are the risks?

Risks come with any treatment that is carried out, dermal fillers are gel like and if injected into a blood vessel can cause a blockage. This happens in very rare occasions with skilled medical professionals, if it was to happen, we have the correct treatment and specialised medicine to help reverse this very quickly in clinic. This is why it is very important to know your practitioners background and know they’re fully trained in emergency care as well as injecting the filler.

The most common side effects for ha fillers are minimal bruising (can last up to two weeks depending on how your body heals with bruising and the area treated), slight tenderness, swelling and redness around the treatment site. Rare side effects can include, prolonged bruising (longer than a couple of weeks), prolonged swelling and very rare allergies.
